Artists Line-up einsehbar unter https://www.berlinerfestspiele.de/en/jazzfest-berlin, Programm ab 11.9.205 online

Artistic Leadership @ Jazzfest Berlin 2025
From Solo to Large Ensemble
A practice seminar on methodology, multiplicity and freedom in artistic working methods in musical ensembles.
Led by: Prof. Kristín Guttenberg
The Artistic Leadership seminar addresses individual and collective working methods in artistic processes and projects. Of particular interest is the multiplicity of procedures and approaches. How is communication achieved?
How is leadership realised and implemented? The complex field of leadership in team and project work is fascinating and, above all, essential for artistic work. We shine a spotlight on various levels and methodological aspects – and, above all, on the individual style and approach of each artistic personality in each ensemble and project.
From 30 October to 2 November 2025, Jazzfest Berlin will offer us a unique and rich spectrum of artists, ensemble formats and projects, which we will be able to immerse in and engage with through the seminar. In a renewed collaboration between the Hanns Eisler School of Music, the Jazz Institute Berlin and the Berliner Festspiele with Jazzfest director Nadin Deventer, Prof. Kristín Guttenberg will be taking students to the festival and into direct exchange and engagement with a wide variety of working methods, artists and ensembles. The seminar offers a space for mutual exchange, exploration, reflection and inspiration, as well as professional eye-opening experiences for all participants.
*The selection of artists will be made in collaboration with the seminar participants. The line-up of artists can be viewed at https://www.berlinerfestspiele.de/en/jazzfest-berlin, and the programme will be online from 11 September 2025.
