“HUMAN NATURE - Touching the Common Ground: Enactive Art, Resonance and Social-Ecological Care as Collective Practice”

The art project HUMAN NATURE unfolds as a living inquiry into how relations of care and identification emerge between bodies, places and environments. Through site-specific improvisation in music and dance, the human being becomes the epistemic starting point—an instrument of knowing, sensing and forming the social-ecological field. The historic water reservoir in central Berlin resonates as a “third place”, in which perception becomes sensuously heightened and presence takes embodied form: a porous ground between private and public, art and research, self and collective. Within its acoustic architecture, acts of listening, movement and co-creation generate a field of resonance, where care is practiced rather than defined. In performances, labs and talks the project invites scholars, artists and neighbourhoods into a specific location to experience a non-commercial social incubator, where power reveals itself through cooperation, vulnerability and embodied responsiveness. Presence and care are considered as a transformative force at the intersection of art, embodiment, politics and social- ecological becoming. This talk seeks to make the experiential dimension tangible, drawing on enactive cognition and critical social philosophy to reflect, how participatory art might bridge dualisms—mind/body, nature/culture, self/other—and cultivate practices of interdependence and care.
